The ROC (Regional Training Centre) will accommodate not only the users of the ROC, but also other commercial users such as offices and commercial businesses. In the ROC seafront building (next to Central Station) many different everyday users will occupy the building: passers-by from the Central Station (the route to and from the Central Station, the LUMC hospital and the bus stop is prominent), neighbours, employees of the commercial offices and thousands of students of the ROC will meet in the building. The building is thought of as a small city, where people work, study, shop and meet.
The hall on the ground and first floors is filled with commercial functions. Alongside these commercial functions, the shops of the ROC are also located on the first floor. The ROC, situated on the second floor and above, is accessed by an escalator from the hall on the ground floor. From here students and other users can use elevators or smaller stairs in the open spaces to access the communal areas of the school on the upper floors. The individual study and workplaces and class rooms are accessed from these larger shared areas.
The hotel is located on the 9th and 10th floors. Floors 11 and 12 contain conference rooms, offices and the restaurant. The offices and the hotel have their own separate entrances.
